Accessibility

How can I obtain copies of documents in other formats?

You have a right to receive Council information in a suitable format. Council can provide documents on tape, computer disk, in large print or in another format, if required.

What support is available if I want to attend a workshop?

  • All our workshops are held at accessible venues which provide lifts and ramps, wheelchair seating and disabled toilets. See Workshops for a list of venue facilities.
  • We aim to provide disabled toilets.
  • We aim to provide a hearing induction loop for people with hearing aides if required.
  • An AUSLAN sign language interpreter can be provided at workshops if required.

Accessible features of the Sustainable Homes and Communities Website

The Sustainable Homes and Communities Program website complies with World Wide Consortium (WC3) Level 1 accreditation, with some Level 2 accreditation. This Level includes accessible features such as:

  • Remove Images – an option which removes all images from the site, leaving a standard text-based website
  • Larger fonts – option available for those of poor vision or smaller monitor resolution
  • Alternative text for all images – a description is provided for all images for vision impaired readers.
